Drew McIntyre, who recently made his WWE return at Money in the Bank, is already lining up an acting role just days after his comeback. McIntyre had taken a hiatus following WrestleMania 39 and made a powerful return by targeting Intercontinental Champion GUNTHER.
As previously reported, McIntyre is set to miss next week’s episode of RAW due to a filming project. It has now been revealed that he will be starring in an action film titled “The Killer’s Game.”
The movie features notable actors Dave Bautista and Ice Cube. The film is based on Jay Bonansinga’s novel and is written by Rand Ravich and Simon Kinberg, with recent rewrites by James Coyne.
“The Killer’s Game” follows the story of veteran assassin Joe Flood (played by Bautista), who receives a life-threatening illness diagnosis. In order to avoid the impending pain, he authorizes a kill order on himself. However, he later discovers that he was misdiagnosed and must now defend himself against a group of former colleagues who have been sent to kill him.
While McIntyre is venturing into the world of acting, he is still expected to challenge GUNTHER for the Intercontinental Championship at SummerSlam next month. Fans can anticipate an exciting showdown between these two talented competitors in the near future.
