Fans were eagerly waiting for CM Punk’s return on the debut episode of Collision, as it marked the first time he appeared on AEW television since All Out last year. CM Punk has been a regular in-ring competitor and his match quality has been very solid so far. It appears his match with Samoa Joe on Collision last week saw a major bump in ratings.

The Second City Saint has been a staple of AEW Collision since the debut episode and he is clearly happy to be back in the fold. He also faced off against Samoa Joe in the semi-finals of the Owen Hart Cup tournament on last week’s episode of AEW Collision.

This match was 18 years in the making, as fans fondly remembered their epic trilogy during their early days in Ring Of Honor back in 2004. When all was said and done, it was CM Punk who finally defeated Samoa Joe for the first time.

The show also ended up drawing a viewership of 580,000, with a .21 in the 18 to 49 demographic. According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, it was reported that CM Punk vs Sama Joe saw a major bump in ratings in the quarter hours for AEW Collision.
