Roman Reigns has been booked as an absolute monster since his return back in 2020 and fans believed his reign of terror would never end. That said, Reigns is no longer the invincible beast that he once was after Money In The Bank. Now it appears that some want WWE to use a very controversial finish for Roman Reigns’ SummerSlam match.
Roman Reigns and Solo Sikoa squared off against The Usos in a terrific tag team match, which featured a ton of drama and insane action. In the end, Jey Uso did the unthinkable and pinned Roman Reigns – which was Reigns’ first pinfall loss since 2019.
This led to the trial of Roman Reigns for last week’s episode of Friday Night Smackdown. Roman Reigns teased making Jey Uso the head of the table this week, but that didn’t happen as he made it clear he will remain The Tribal Chief. Afterwards, Jey Uso challenged him to match at SummerSlam.
While speaking on Busted Open Radio, WWE Hall Of Famer Bully Ray talked about Roman Reigns’ upcoming match against Jey Uso at the WWE SummerSlam Premium Live Event. Ray called for WWE to use the controversial ‘Dusty’ finish for the match.
“If there was ever a time for a ‘Dusty finish’ in the WWE, it would be at SummerSlam,” Bully said. “Imagine a ‘Dusty finish’ at SummerSlam in which we are meant … to know that Jey Uso just won the match. … Oh my God. And WWE is not big on the Dusty finish at all, but holy cow — if this wasn’t just the right place for it.
Do I think at the end of the day that Jey Uso is going to become the next WWE Universal Champion? No,” Bully stated. “Do I think the story that they are telling would lead me to believe that it could happen? Absolutely. And let me tell you something — if we get Jey Uso vs. Roman Reigns at SummerSlam, … [with] the story that has been told so far, and the believability that Jey has already pinned Roman — I guarantee you that those will be some of the most believable false finishes that you have seen in your life.”
We will have to wait and see how WWE will book Roman Reigns and Jey Uso’s feud in the coming weeks, as the company has major plans for both of them at the SummerSlam Premium Live Event.
