WWE has a lot of things in the works, but an injury can always mess up plans. It seems that is the case for Johnny Gargano.
We previously reported that BWE tweeted out to say that Team DIY is “jinxed” and they won’t see a reunion at SummerSlam. This upset a few fans when they heard the news.
It was later confirmed that Johnny Gargano is still waiting for a green light on his WWE return. Right now, fans are still waiting for that to happen.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Johnny Gargano is still injured, and he won’t be competing at SummerSlam. At this point, he’s waiting for clearance, because WWE had to change up plans already.
Johnny Gargano hasn’t been seen on TV for quite a while, leading many to speculate on his status. Fightful was given an answer.
On Monday, there was a report noting that Johnny Gargano was still injured, and wouldn’t be competing at this year’s Summerslam. While we can’t confirm his status for WWE Summerslam, or the status of the originally planned DIY angle, we can confirm that Gargano is no longer injured, and was factored in to recent creative plans in WWE.
It was also noted that Johnny Gargano was backstage at the recent WWE Raw in Cleveland in his hometown. Gargano was originally scheduled to be on the show. However, “creative plans were adjusted and he wasn’t used. Gargano had experienced a recurring shoulder injury, but has been fine for quite some time.”
Johnny Gargano needs to be 100% before WWE will put him back on television. Hopefully, when that day comes it will be worth the wait.
