Former Impact World Champion Steve Maclin had a lot of momentum this year, but it all got derailed recently as he got injured before Slammiversary. Now it appears his replacement has been officially announced.

As previously reported, Impact Wrestling announced on Saturday that Maclin sustained an undisclosed injury, forcing him to withdraw from the Special Grudge Match where he was slated to team with Bully Ray against Scott D’Amore and PCO.

Despite Maclin being taken out of the match, it will go on as planned and Bully Ray’s new tag team partner was set to be revealed on July 10th on ‘Busted Open Radio.’ It was then revealed today that Cody Deaner requested to be Ray’s partner and he accepted.

Thus, Cody Deaner and Bully Ray will be squaring off against Scott D’Amore and PCO at Impact Wrestling’s Slammiversary event, which will be taking place on July 15th this week. We’ll have to see who will end up winning the highly anticipated match this week.
