Malakai Black left WWE and entered AEW with a lot of momentum. Now, it seems that he made a request for AEW to make his personal life a bit easier.

Since his debut on the Collision episode of AEW Dynamite on June 17th, Malakai Black and his faction have been noticeably absent from subsequent episodes. Recent reports indicate that Black himself requested this change, likely influenced by his wife, Zelina Vega.

Although Black’s run in AEW has faced mixed reactions from fans online, with some comparing it unfavorably to his previous WWE bookings, he has remained loyal to Tony Khan’s promotion and continued to work with them, despite rumors of a potential return to WWE this year.

During a recent interview, Black revealed that he personally requested to be exclusive to AEW Collision. Subsequently, a report from Wrestling Observer highlighted that Vega typically works on weekends, making this arrangement a fitting one for the couple.

The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that the House of Black will “mainly work Collision.” That being said, Malakai wants to work on Saturdays since his wife, Zelina Vega, is on SmackDown.

“It looks like the House of Black is going to mainly work Collision. Malakai Black said on Bobby Fish’s podcast that he requested to work the Saturday show every week. It makes sense given his wife (Zelina Vega) works Friday through Sunday most weeks.”

It can be difficult to coordinate schedules, especially when your significant other works for another company. Thankfully, Malakai Black and Zelina Vega were able to make things work.

We will have to see if Malakai Black and Zelina Vega ever work on the same show again. That would require them to change employment status. Only time will tell if that is in the cards.

Malakai Black and Zelina Vega are a great couple, but who is your favorite pro wrestling couple? Sound off in the comments!
