Former Impact World Champion Steve Maclin will unfortunately be absent from Impact Wrestling’s upcoming pay-per-view event, Slammiversary.
The promotion announced on Saturday that Maclin sustained an undisclosed injury, forcing him to withdraw from the Special Grudge Match where he was slated to team with Bully Ray against Scott D’Amore and PCO.
However, the match will still proceed, and Bully Ray’s new tag team partner will be revealed on the “Busted Open” show on July 10. Adding to the excitement, former Detroit Red Wings star Darren McCarty will serve as a special enforcer for the match.
Slammiversary will feature several other compelling matchups, including Alex Shelley defending the Impact World Title against Nick Aldis, and Deonna Purrazzo defending the Impact Knockouts World Championship against Trinity.
Joe Henry will defend the Impact Digital Media Title against Kenny King, ABC (Ace Austin and Chris Bey) will defend the Impact World Tag Team Titles in a four-way tag team match, and the Coven (Taylor Wilde and KiLynn King) will defend the Impact Knockouts World Tag Team Titles against Killer Kelly and Masha Slamovich.
Chris Sabin will defend the Impact X Division Title against Lio Rush, and an Ultimate X match will determine the #1 contender for the X-Division title. The participants in the Ultimate X match include Angels, Jonathan Gresham, Kevin Knight, KUSHIDA, and Mike Bailey.
Slammiversary is scheduled to take place on July 15 at the St. Clair College Sportsplex in Windsor, Ontario, Canada. Fans can watch the event via live stream on platforms such as FITE, YouTube for Impact Insiders, and Impact Plus.
