Alicia Fox had quite a run with WWE, but her departure from the company was lackluster, to say the least. All this time later, Alicia Fox still feels a certain type of way about how things went down.

While speaking to Ring The Belle, Alicia Fox said she is shifting her focus towards the next chapter of her wrestling career. She also shed light on the circumstances surrounding her recent departure from WWE.

Alicia Fox candidly discussed the rather disappointing final years she experienced while with the company. Having battled with alcoholism for an extended period, the former Divas Champion made the decision to seek help and entered a rehab facility. Her time in rehab concluded shortly before the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020.

During this period, Fox had adopted a mindset of “they’ll call me when they need me.” However, as time passed without any communication from WWE regarding a potential return to the ring, Fox admits she grew increasingly concerned about her future with the company.

“I was freaking out. I am an alcoholic and y’all have me at home. I’ve been there in that machine [for] 17 years. I want an explanation … This is while I’m sober, this still haunting day, and [I got] no answers.”

Eventually, Alicia Fox received an update from WWE, but not in a direct manner. She was suddenly slapped with a legends label, and that caught her off guard.

“One day, a fan tweeted me a picture of that [WWE] Legends shirt, and I had a little head on there from [the 2018 Evolution] match. I was like, ‘Why is my head on that shirt? You’re going to legend me up? It’s not even fair.'”

Alicia Fox appeared in the 2021 and 2022 women’s Royal Rumble matches, but as the expiration of her contract approached in April 2023, she says she continued to be ghosted by the company. That left a bad taste in her mouth.

“I thought maybe my release date, they would give me a statement of support saying, ‘Well, she’s gone.'”

WWE didn’t announce that she even left the company. After years with the company, she didn’t even get a tweet from WWE to let fans know that she had moved on, like they have for several people in the past.

Alicia Fox has a lot of fans who would love to see her back in WWE. Do you think the company will bring her back? Sound off in the comments!
