Bobby Roode had a brilliant run in NXT, where he even became the NXT Champion. His main roster run in comparison never lived up to the hype and expectations. He has been out of action due to a neck injury and now it appears Kurt Angle commented on his situation.
Bobby Roode had a blast as 1/2 of the Dirty Dawgs with Dolph Ziggler, but then his in-ring momentum was stopped abruptly. The former NXT Champion had to undergo neck surgery and he has remained absent since then.
As previously reported, Bobby Roode is expected to be out of action for a considerable amount of time as he underwent neck fusion surgery late last year, as opposed to earlier that year.
While speaking on the latest episode of his Kurt Angle Show, the WWE Hall Of Famer talked about the way Bobby Roode was used in WWE before he was put on the shelf. Angle stated that WWE didn’t use him properly at all.
“They haven’t given him a chance yet. I know he was good in NXT. He was being pushed and utilized properly. Not in WWE, unfortunately for Bobby. I don’t know if they’re ever going to do it. That’s what really sucks. Yeah, because Bobby’s at the age now. I think he’s like, what? It’s mid-40s. So I don’t know if he can wrestle much longer, but I hope they do give him the push he deserves.”
Bobby Roode has been sidelined for well over a year now and he might not even make an in-ring return for an additional year at this rate. Regardless, we send our best to the former NXT Champion and wish him a speedy recovery.
