Tyler Breeze was released from WWE on June 25th, 2021 as part of the company’s many pandemic cuts. It seems that WWE is still cutting him a check all this time later.
Xavier Woods’ UpUpDownDown YouTube channel partnered up with WWE as they took on a lot of the production work. Although Woods’ paycheck has been a point of controversy for a time, Tyler Breeze hasn’t openly complained about anything.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that Tyler Breeze hasn’t wrestled in over two years since his WWE release, “but he’s still getting a check.” The report went on to explain that Tyler Breeze still has a deal with WWE through UpUpDownDown.
Fightful Select has learned that Tyler Breeze has been under a deal with WWE specifically tied to the UpUpDownDown brand for quite some time. We have not learned if the deal has any wrestling provisions or restrictions associated with it, outside of a WWE source saying that it does prevent him from appearing on AEW programming.
Breeze’s return to the ring was announced for Prestige Wrestling for September 1. Those we spoke to put over Breeze’s investments outside of the ring, saying that he was several steps ahead of his wrestling career as far as preparing himself for life outside it. Specifically, he helps run Flatbacks to train wrestlers, and made several smart real estate investments.
Tyler Breeze hasn’t gone elsewhere, and there’s a reason for that. There is also a reason why he continues appearing on UpUpDownDown, because he’s still got a deal through that project.
This is an interesting note, and it is more proof that it’s always important to diversify your revenue streams. Thankfully, Tyler Breeze seems to be doing well with his Flatbacks pro wrestling school and UpUpDownDown.
Tyler Breeze did a lot in WWE, but is he a future WWE Hall of Famer? Sound off in the comments!
