Vince McMahon returned to WWE at the very start of this year and took back control of the company in a bid to sell the promotion to the highest bidder. The bidder turned out to be UFC’s parent group Endeavor and now it appears the merger will lead to WWE RAW getting some major changes.
Endeavor is now the controlling owner of WWE, and they will merge UFC and WWE into a new publicly traded company. This is truly a massive deal and will lead to significant changes that will be felt by both pro wrestling as well as the Combat sports world for a long time.
As previously reported, the new name of the publicly traded company will be TKO Group Holdings. Due to this, fans started wondering just how many significant changes the company will see in the future.
According to Dave Meltzer in this week’s Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Monday Night RAW will likely see a wide variety of changes as they are currently being discussed. That said, the changes will only be implemented after the merger is finally done.
We were told the merger not being finalized is holding up major changes happening but there is talk of at least exploring major changes for Raw with new ideas when the merger takes place.
It is not known when exactly Endeavor’s acquisition of WWE and subsequent merger with UFC will take place, but one can consider it to be done by the end of this year. We’ll have to see how Monday Night RAW will end up getting changed.
