Konnan Had Talks With WWE To Work With Real-Life Godson Dominik Mysterio

Dominik Mysterio was initially seen as a plain babyface before he turned heel on his father Rey Mysterio Edge last year. His character transformation has simply been remarkable and Dominik Mysterio continues to get a lot of heat as a heel. Now it appears Konnan had talks with WWE regarding a potential program with Dominik Mysterio.

Following a brief stint in jail as part of his storyline, Dominik Mysterio came back as Prison Dom. Fans and peers alike have been praising Mysterio’s current heel character for good reason.

With the LWO revived before WrestleMania 39, fans have been wondering how the faction would be booked. Interestingly enough, even Konnan expressed his interest in returning to WWE and join the LWO again.

According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, it was reported that Konnan had talks with WWE regarding a potential program with Dominik Mysterio, who happens to be his real-life godson.

“Konnan was on Inside the Ropes radio and talked about having discussions to come here and how his goal is to work with Dominik Mysterio, who in real life is his godson.

He said it hasn’t gotten past the discussion phase and said it was one of the two goals he has left (the other is to promote a major Lucha Libre show in the U.S.).”

Dominik Mysterio is set to square off against Cody Rhodes at Money In The Bank on July 1st, so it remains to be seen how Dominik Mysterio will fare against The American Nightmare in the meantime.
