The Iron Claw is a movie about the rise and fall of the legendary Von Erich family, who made a huge impact on the sport of professional wrestling in the 1960s. The title of the movie is based on Von Erich’s finishing hold. Now it appears the first impressions of the film don’t look so good.

The film is set to star Zac Efron, who will play Kevin Von Erich in the movie. Besides Zac Efron, the film will feature the likes of pro wrestling legend Ric Flair and AEW World Champion MJF.

According to a report by Dave Meltzer on The Wresting Observer Newsletter, details regarding a test screening of the film as well as spoilers and first impressions were also given.

It was added that the movie will not push the envelope and that there is legitimate criticism regarding some performances – namely against the actor who portrays Ric Flair. It was stated that the actor garnered laughs from the audience during the screen testing – which was not intended.

MJF’s role was also confirmed in the upcoming film. Fans are certainly quite excited about the upcoming project. We will have to wait and see how the film will turn out.
