Finn Balor is a former 2-time NXT Champion and was truly one of the most significant names in NXT. However, neither of his main roster runs proved to be memorable at all. He has seen a lot of success in WWE throughout his career and it appears Balor wants to retire like Edge.

Back in June last year, Finn Balor joined Judgement Day and ended up taking over the faction. They all kicked out Edge and shocked fans. It marked the first time Balor was a heel in pro wrestling in many years.

This led to a longstanding feud between the two throughout the course of a year, with the feud culminating in a Hell in a Cell this year at WrestleMania 39. Naturally, fans loved their feud in a big way.

While speaking on After the Bell, Finn Balor stated that he has always admired Edge and that he was distraught when Edge retired because he felt that he could never compete with Edge. Balor then revealed that he wants to retire the same way as Edge will.

“It goes back a lot further than what you’ve seen on screen. I’ve been a huge admirer of Edge not only as a performer but as a person his whole career. We became close many, many years ago. When he retired, I was personally disappointed for the fact that I thought I’d missed out on that opportunity to possibly someday share the ring with him. I always admired how he transitioned out of pro wrestling so gracefully. I thought if someday I’m gonna retire from this business, I want to do it the same way Edge has done it.”

Finn Balor will challenge Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship at the Money In The Bank Premium Live Event on July 1st. We will have to wait and see how the match will turn out.
