There is no doubt that Bryan Danielson is one of the most established names in the world of professional wrestling right now. He is also viewed as a very harmless vegan outside the squared circle and largely maintains that image as well. That said, it appears AEW originally had some plans for him for Dynamite this week, but got scrapped in the end.

Bryan Danielson and Kazuchika Okada closed out the Forbidden Door event and had a terrific match that came as no surprise to fans. Unfortunately, Danielson broke his arm during that match.

Brie Bella, Bryan Danielson’s wife, revealed that Danielson had a complete break and that his injury was worse than initially thought. According to Dave Meltzer on the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Danielson was set to face off against Tomohiro Ishii on Dynamite this week, but those plans got scrapped.

“There was talk of a Danielson vs. Ishii singles match (which was to happen this week but Jon Moxley took his place).”

Jon Moxley squared off against Tomohiro Ishii on Dynamite this week instead of Bryan Danielson. It is expected he will be out of action for well over 6-8 weeks, so we’ll have to see when Danielson will be able to make his in-ring return.
