Sting shocked the world when he made his debut in AEW back in December 2020. Since then, he has been featured heavily on AEW television, being paired up with Darby Allin. He had a match on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite and it appears Sting will now need several stitches after the match.
Despite being over 60, Sting certainly has been competing at an unexpectedly high level, and that has certainly impressed fans and pro wrestlers alike. He has also taken part in cinematic matches and various other matches in the past.
As seen on this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Sting and Darby Allin squared off against Chris Jericho and Sammy Guevara in a Tornado Tag Team Match. The match included a spot where Sting jumped off a ladder and sent Guevara through a table with a splash. The spot was definitely a rough one for The Icon and fans were shocked as well.
After AEW Dynamite went off the air, Sting provided an update on his condition as he cut a promo, revealing that he will need several stitches on his lip after his action on the show.
“I’m gonna have a bunch of stitches and my lip, and a tooth that seems halfway knocked out, and it was worth it to be right here. Thank you to Tony Khan for allowing me to do this.”
Sting also made it clear he will not end his career at AEW All In in London. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how AEW will continue to book Sting in the coming weeks as fans feel he will retire soon enough.
