Shayna Baszler has been part of the WWE family for quite a few years now and has won championship gold several times. She is currently one-half of the Unified WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions and it appears Baszler wants to defend the titles in NXT as well.
Following a brief hiatus following WrestleMania 39, Ronda Rousey returned again and set her sights on the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles. She and Shayna Baszler defeated three other teams on RAW this week in order to capture the WWE Women’s Tag Team Titles, which ended up disappointing fans.
Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler competed against Alba Fyre and Isla Dawn in a women’s tag team title unification match. When the dust settled, it was Rousey and Baszler who stood tall and became the unified champions.
While speaking on WrestleRant, Shayna Baszler stated that she wants to defend the Women’s Tag Team Titles on all brands, including NXT, similar to what Sasha Banks and Bayley did.
“That’s been a thing I’ve done as a Tag Team Champion previously, so I am ready to do it now. I think it’s an understanding, especially the singles title you have a lot more engagements to be called to.
I think the tag titles, if we are sitting here and talking about how we want them to be as prestigious as the singles titles, then we also have to understand that the responsibility is going to be the same as well. We are prepared to do all that.”
We previously reported that Ronda Rousey is being considered for a role in NXT. Now it appears WWE will move forward with those plans and both Rousey and Shayna Baszler will work in NXT. We’ll have to wait and see when the duo will end up competing in NXT.
