The WWE is full of talented Superstars who have competed in various companies over the years before calling WWE their home. That said, a lot of talent have also left the company for various reasons. This includes Matt Cardona, as many people believe he will finally return to WWE soon enough. Now it appears Cardona doesn’t see himself signing a full-time deal with a major promotion.
In case you did not know, Matt Cardona was known as Zack Ryder during his time in WWE. He didn’t break the glass ceiling there and was unable to truly break out as a star there. He was eventually released by WWE in 2020 and went on to become the Indy God in the independent circuit.
Ringside News also exclusively reported that Matt Cardona is on WWE’s radar for a return. That said, there is no guarantee he will end up signing with Vince McMahon’s company anytime soon.
While speaking on NotSam Wrestling, Matt Cardona stated that he is always willing to have a phone call with any promotion that will contact him. However, Cardona made it clear he doesn’t see himself signing a full-time deal with a major promotion right now.
“I have not been in any communication with anybody. They know my numbers. So, listen, I would have a phone call with anybody, but I don’t know if I would go back to either big company right now. I feel like [Steph De Lander and I] are f***ing killing it. No matter how you define success — accolades, money, happiness — I’m the most successful I’ve ever been in my career.”
Matt Cardona also believes he will return to WWE eventually. We will have to wait and see whether fans will finally get to see Matt Cardona finally make his return to WWE one day.
