WWE has introduced Hall of Famers in great spots in the past, and it seems that RVD would gladly take a phone call from WWE if they want him around. He would even be game to take on an on-screen role with a lot of responsibility attached.
In recent years, WWE minimized the presence of authority figures on their television programming, primarily relying on Adam Pearce as the WWE official for both Raw and SmackDown.
Nevertheless, leading up to the 2023 WWE Draft, fans speculated that the company might reintroduce general managers to their shows. One notable figure who participated in the Draft was WWE Hall of Famer Rob Van Dam, who assisted in announcing one of the rounds of picks.
During an episode of 1 of a Kind with RVD, Rob was asked if he would contemplate taking on a potential role as an authority figure in the world of professional wrestling.
“I would consider it. My first thought is that like, ‘I’m really not comfortable in a suit, so I would hope that they didn’t want me in a suit.’
RVD would make a really fun authority figure in WWE, and he wouldn’t even need to wear a suit. It seems that the former WWE World Champion could just be onto something, but it will take WWE giving him a call for the job first.
We will have to see when and where RVD pops up next, because he could play many different roles in the company. For more on this, and everything else in the pro wrestling world, stay tuned with us here at Ringside News.
RVD has a ton of charisma, and he could bring a lot to an authority figure role in WWE. Would you be down to see him return in that role? Sound off in the comments!
