Jungle Boy has improved leaps and bounds as an in-ring competitor since his debut in AEW back in 2019. Throughout his career, Jack Perry has been a babyface and eventually gained a proper fanbase. He was also part of the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door event, where he turned heel on Hook. Now it appears that Eric Bischoff believes Jungle Boy shouldn’t have been part of the event in the first place.

During the AEW x NJPW Forbidden Door pay-per-view, Jungle Boy faced off against Sanada for the IWGP Heavyweight Championship. Despite his best efforts, he was not able to defeat Sanada.

Right after that, he ended up turning heel on Hook – shocking fans in attendance in a big way. That said, some fans weren’t all that impressed with Jungle Boy’s performance in the match.

While speaking on the 83 Weeks podcast, Eric Bischoff talked about Jungle Boy’s match against Sanada. Bischoff clearly didn’t like the match and went on to state that Jungle Boy shouldn’t have been part of the event in the first place.

“I was less than impressed. I don’t get it. I don’t want to be critical, but Jungle Boy’s work, and I tweeted it out last night, he couldn’t crack an egg with a hammer. He just didn’t look believable to me so much so that it actually, I don’t want to say it made me embarrassed to be a wrestling fan, but he was out of place. He should not have been on that show. I can’t put my finger on it.

He looked not-interested, is the way I felt about it. I don’t know how else to describe it. The forearms and some of the things that he was laying in there looked like he was trying not to make contact. I hope it was just an off night because if that’s an example of some of his best work and him getting up for a major show in front of a huge audience, I don’t know man. It doesn’t make sense to me.”

We will have to wait and see how AEW will book Jungle Boy now that he is a full-fledged heel. Perhaps he will end up joining Christian Cage and Luchasaurus again, as fans feel that might happen.
