Batista has confirmed that he was originally scheduled to be inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2023. However, due to his film commitments, he was unable to attend this year’s ceremony.

In 2020, Batista was announced as a Hall of Fame-elect, but the global pandemic forced the postponement of the ceremony until 2021. Unfortunately, Batista was unable to attend the prerecorded ceremony held inside the WWE ThunderDome due to prior engagements. He expressed his desire to be inducted at a future ceremony where he could properly express his gratitude to the fans and individuals who played a significant role in his career.

Batista had previously expressed his hope of being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2023. However, in a recent interview with CoolKicks, he revealed that he was filming a movie in South Africa at the time of this year’s ceremony, preventing his attendance.

When asked if he had attended this year’s WrestleMania in Los Angeles, Batista stated, “No. I was in South Africa. I was supposed to go into the Hall of Fame, but I was committed to this film and couldn’t get out of it.”

While Batista now primarily focuses on his acting career, he admits that nothing can compare to the exhilaration of performing in front of a live professional wrestling audience. Despite his transition to Hollywood, he still holds a deep appreciation for his wrestling roots.

Since his final match at WWE WrestleMania 35, where he faced Triple H in 2019, Batista has continued to make waves in the entertainment industry. He has appeared in projects such as “Knock at the Cabin” and the highly anticipated “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.” Additionally, he is set to portray a hitman in the upcoming Lionsgate film, “The Killer’s Game.”

While Batista’s induction into the WWE Hall of Fame has been delayed, his impact on the wrestling industry and his success in the world of acting have solidified his place as a true legend in both realms.
