AEW and NJPW held another Forbidden Door event tonight, and the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was filled with passionate pro wrestling fans. That being said, they weren’t all thrilled about seeing CM Punk.

CM Punk took on Satoshi Kojima during Forbidden Door in the opening round of the Owen Hart Foundation Tournament. Fans in Toronto were thrilled to see the match go down, but it wasn’t without booing.

CM Punk made his way to the ring, and he was met with a choir of boos. It was notable on television, but fan footage from the event really shows how much fans hated CM Punk.

The Second City Savior has heat with AEW fans over how he treated the company over the past year. Now that he is back, there is a lot of work to do. In the end, Punk won to advance in the tournament.

CM Punk does have his fans in AEW, and plenty of them were rocking his merchandise and cheering for him. That wasn’t enough to drown out the overwhelming boos coming CM Punk’s direction.
