Eddie Kingston is a true veteran in the world of professional wrestling, as he has competed all over the world in various companies. Kingston is a major star in AEW right now and he is never afraid of speaking the truth. With reports of divisiveness following CM Punk’s AEW return, it appears that Eddie Kingston made it clear that the AEW locker room isn’t bothered by Punk’s return.
CM Punk made his return during the debut episode of AEW Collision last week. This marked The Second City Saint’s first appearance since the All Out pay-per-view last year.
While the episode was a resounding success, fans wondered what went on backstage after the show. Bryan Alvarez recently reported that there is a lot of divisiveness in AEW after this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite.
It was also reported that a top AEW star privately expressed the fear of a ‘ticking time bomb’ within the company after CM Punk’s return. While speaking with NYPost.com, Eddie Kingston was asked about the reports of backstage divisiveness in AEW. Kingston made it clear there is no divisiveness whatsoever and that the locker room isn’t bothered by CM Punk’s return.
“He did it his way and that’s the way wanted to do it. I expected it. I knew it was happening, knowing Punk and what he thought was right for him. That’s it. I see the reports. I see the clickbait on YouTube. But the locker room is not divided, not the people I hang out with. Punk’s gonna do what Punk does and if whatever Punk does helps this company, no one can say anything.
Not me, man. Not my crew of people I hang out with. Maybe there’s that one percent that are bothered but the people I chill with, they’re good. They don’t care.”
CM Punk also received a ton of boos during this week’s episode of AEW Collision. Regardless of what others think, CM Punk is back as a regular on AEW television and that’s unlikely to change anytime soon.
