AEW and NJPW are set to put on another Forbidden Door event, but the card saw a change on the day of the show. Adam Cole was pulled out of his match against Filthy Tom Lawlor, and that changed up the card in a way fans didn’t expect to see.

Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that there was actually concern about Adam Cole’s health prior to Forbidden Door. That being said, his situation has nothing to do with an injury, because he has an illness.

We’re told there’s been concern Adam Cole was banged up after his match with MJF, but he’s still expected to appear on TV. He is actually out of tonight with an illness.

Adam Cole is a huge star for AEW, but he won’t represent the company at Forbidden Door. This might be a bummer for fans, but there are still plans for him to continue in his current creative direction with the company.
