AEW and NJPW held another Forbidden Door event tonight, and the Scotiabank Arena in Toronto, Ontario, Canada was filled with passionate pro wrestling fans. That being said, they did everything they could to limit the drama backstage.

CM Punk and The Elite threw down last year after AEW All Out. That is not a situation that they want to recreate at all. AEW also understood the risks involved with booking The Elite and CM Punk at the same show.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that AEW kept CM Punk and The Elite separate during Forbidden Door. In fact, they were kept on different sides of the arena.
Kenny Omega and CM Punk were put on completely different sides of the building at Forbidden Door, we’re told.
CM Punk and The Elite are on different AEW shows, with Punk pretty much staying on Collision and The Elite getting Dynamite. Punk appeared live on Dynamite this week, but The Elite did a pre-taped segment, so they didn’t have to be there.
We’ll have to see if CM Punk and The Elite ever have anything to do with each other again. It doesn’t seem like they have warmed up to the idea. It also appears that Tony Khan’s company isn’t going to take any chances regarding another backstage brawl.
