AEW doesn’t want to lose more Executive Vice Presidents, especially after Cody Rhodes bid them farewell. WWE provided a great home for Cody after his departure, and Tony Khan is well aware that the rest of The Elite could follow.
At this time, Kenny Omega, Adam “Hangman” Page, and The Young Bucks’ AEW contracts are running out at the end of this year. As of this writing, none of them have agreed to new deals.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted that Adam Page, Kenny Omega, and The Young Bucks’ contract status with AEW are all up in the air. The Elite have also been asked to keep quiet about the situation.
Given Omega, The Young Bucks and Adam Page all have contracts expiring at the end of this year, that becomes another aspect. All have kept quiet as asked, or in some cases signed legal papers basically prohibiting them from talking, which could lead to immense frustration with the situation.
Contract situations are very interesting in pro wrestling, especially when you’re dealing with top names. The Elite could do a lot of damage to AEW if they left the company, but odds are they will make a lot of nose in whatever company they decide to ink a deal with.
