Kevin Kelly is a veteran professional wrestling announcer who has worked for various promotions such as WWE, ROH, and NJPW. He is known for his passionate and knowledgeable commentary, as well as his backstage roles in production and booking. He will return to NJPW for a while and now it appears he will be gone for around a month.
AEW debuted their new show called Collision last week and it was truly a night of memorable moments and solid matches. Kevin Kelly was also part of the commentary team alongside Nigel McGuiness and fans loved it.
Kevin Kelly has prior NJPW commitments that will conflict with AEW Collision. According to the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Kevin Kelly he will still continue to work for New Japan Pro Wrestling.
It was added that he will miss a month of Collision, as he will be in Japan for the G-1 Climax tournament. Kelly will also work in October for the King of Pro Wrestling event, so he will likely miss Collision then. That said, Kelly will do his other work remotely, including events in September and the year-end tag team tournaments.
Jim Ross also stated that he is going to step away for a while after showing up on AEW Collision and sounding terrible. Regardless, fans will certainly miss Kevin Kelly while he remains absent from AEW television.
