WWE has operated under Vince McMahon’s control for decades, and even after his retirement, McMahon found himself right back in the thick of things. That is apparently okay with Ricochet.
Vince McMahon made a comeback to WWE as the executive chairman, having taken a step back from the promotion following a series of sexual misconduct and hush money allegations last summer. Since resuming his role as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Vince asserted that he would no longer be deeply involved in the creative aspects of WWE. He claimed that he would stay out of “the weeds.”
Ricochet is a former WWE Intercontinental Champion, and he had that reign under Vince McMahon’s booking. The One And Only recently provided insight into McMahon’s level of engagement with the current product while speaking to Sporf.
“Vince is still involved and Vince is still talked to. He’s still someone that everyone looks to, especially with creative. So he’s got his fingers in everything too.”
“I think Triple H and everybody in creative is just trying to do the best they can in bringing out the best in who they have. They’re trying to work to everyone’s strengths. I think that’s something that Triple H has always done. They want to grow the brand as much as possible. Whether it’s Raw or SmackDown or NXT. They’re trying to highlight the strengths of everybody. I think it’s been great so far.”
Ricochet was a favorite of Triple H’s in NXT, but Vince McMahon eventually wanted him on the main roster. Since then, Ricochet has been doing his thing, and he obviously has no issue with Vince McMahon getting involved once again.
