John Morrison is set to make his official return to AEW on the upcoming taped episode of Rampage, scheduled to air on Friday. Morrison made his re-debut during Harley Cameron’s promo segment, where he found himself aligned with QT Marshall against The Acclaimed and Billy Gunn.
According to PW Insider, backstage sources have indicated that Morrison’s official ring name in AEW will be either Johnny Television or Johnny TV. He is expected to become a regular presence in AEW going forward.
It’s worth mentioning that Morrison, who is married to Taya Valkyrie, previously wrestled in AEW under the name Johnny Elite, participating in three matches in mid-2022. His first match was against Samoa Joe on the May 18, 2022 Wild Card Wednesday edition of Dynamite, where he suffered a loss. He later triumphed over Marq Quen at the AEW Dark Saturday Night Special taping on May 27, 2022. Morrison’s final match was against Miro on the June 1, 2022 episode of Dynamite, which ended in defeat.
We will have to see what is next for Johnny TV in AEW. That is an interesting new name, and it could translate into any venue he steps in at this point. After all, remembering what to call Johnny can be quite a daunting task.
