There are indications that WWE may be setting up a match featuring two NXT stars against Raw’s Judgment Day faction. This all went down during the recent episode of NXT on June 20th, the first night of their Gold Rush special.
Seth Rollins successfully defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against Bron Breakker. However, following the match, Finn Balor launched an attack on Rollins.
While Seth Rollins and Finn Balor are already scheduled to face each other for the championship at Money in the Bank on July 1st in London, Balor’s assault was interrupted by two intriguing individuals.
Trick Williams and Carmelo Hayes ran to help Seth Rollins out. After the show concluded, Williams and Hayes remained in the ring with Rollins.
In fact, Carmelo Hayes even shared a backstage photo with Rollins, with both champions proudly holding their respective titles. There could be more coming for Seth Rollins in NXT.
Although no official announcements or hints have been made, it is worth considering the potential for this exciting three-on-three encounter. WWE has been actively promoting crossovers between NXT and the main roster, as exemplified by Hayes and Williams being introduced to the main roster audience a couple of weeks ago during Hayes’ feud with Baron Corbin.
While nothing is confirmed at this point, the chance to book a high-stakes match with Finn Balor’s Judgment Day stable isn’t off the table. WWE has shown a commitment to maximizing the synergy between NXT and the main roster in recent memory.
We will have to see how WWE wants to book this situation in the future. Obviously, they have a lot of options on the table, and things might pick up in a big way, especially with NXT’s television rights talks coming up sooner than later.
