WWE hasn’t been announcing their premium live event shows as far out as years past, and there’s a reason for that. It seems that WWE is taking every decision in a careful manner.
WWE is high on generating maximum excitement and anticipation for its upcoming premium live event shows. Historically, these shows have fallen into specific categories, such as stadium events, international showcases, or those directly tied to significant storylines. However, in a departure from the usual practice, WWE has recently revealed the locations and dates for September and October events in a more condensed timeframe. This decision has prompted inquiries from outlets like Fightful, seeking to understand the reasoning behind the shift to closer event announcements this year.
Sean Sapp noted behind Fightful’s paywall that WWE is being very strategic about how they plan and announce premium live events. A lot of things factor into those decisions as well.
WWE sources told Fightful that they’ve tried to be as strategic as possible with PLE events, locations, and announcing them. The factors of Economics, storyline, audience growth are all weighed when making these decisions. They also told us that by announcing the PLE events individually, it allows each announcement to have its own moment.
In 2022, WWE took the initiative to announce the locations and dates for all their premium live events well in advance. According to sources within WWE, they expressed great satisfaction with the outcomes and overall success of their premium live event shows this year.
We’ll have to see what cities WWE announces next for their huge premium live event shows. Now, it seems that WWE is taking a lot of things into consideration before even announcing those events.
