Umaga tragically passed away on December 4th, 2009, years before his time was really supposed to be up. That sad loss is still with us today, but his son is prepared to carry on his legacy.

Zilla Fatu, the son of the late Umaga, is gearing up to make his professional wrestling debut next month. This could mean another eventual addition to the Bloodline.

Being part of the renowned Anoa’i family, which includes his cousins The Usos and Roman Reigns, Zila’s father had a notable career in WWE during the 2000s. Umaga’s influence is still honored as Solo Sikoa does his trademarked Samoan Spike to end opponents.

Booker T’s promotion, Reality of Wrestling, recently announced that Zilla Fatu will participate in their Summer of Champions event at the Humble Civic Center on July 15th. Zilla has been training with ROW since last December, and this event marks an exciting milestone in his wrestling journey.

Zilla Fatu’s debut isn’t the only highlight of the event. The show will also feature Trick Williams from WWE NXT, former WWE star Alicia Fox, and Jacob Fatu.

Umaga started his WWE tenure as Jamal, forming the Three Minute Warning tag team with his cousin Rosey. He then transformed into the memorable character of Umaga, initially pushed as a main eventer before settling into an upper mid-card role. During his time as Umaga, he held the Intercontinental Title twice.

We will have to see what’s next for Zilla Fatu, but he certainly comes from an impressive lineage to accomplish a ton in the pro wrestling business.

What’s your take on Umaga’s son joining the pro wrestling business? Sound off in the comments!
