Fans were eagerly waiting for CM Punk’s return on the debut episode of Collision, as it marked the first time he appeared on AEW television since All Out last year. Needless to say, Punk’s return more than delivered – both from a promo as well as in-ring standpoint. That said, it appears some in AEW felt Punk was being hypocritical after his promo on AEW Collision.

The Second City Saint went on a major rant in his promo, where he even targeted the Young Bucks – calling them ‘Counterfeit Bucks.’ He then took shots at fans who wanted him to apologize for his actions.

During a recent interview with ESPN prior to the debut of AEW Collision, CM Punk claimed that Adam Page chipped his tooth during their match and a lot of other things. Many felt that CM Punk was being far too weak and soft in this instance.

According to Sean Ross Sapp behind Fightful’s paywall, some people thought CM Punk was “hypocritical” for calling people soft after the comments he had made about Hangman Page in the ESPN interview.

It was further reported that there were some people who believed Punk was just “getting out what he needed to get out” in the promo on the debut episode of AEW Collision.

Kenny Omega also joked about AEW having a toxic work environment now that CM Punk is back. Regardless, we will have to wait and see how CM Punk will be booked now that he is back for good.
