Seth Rollins’ time in promotions such as Ring Of Honor helped him hone his craft before going to WWE. Rollins’ current character is arguably his best, as fans are clearly behind him no matter what. Now it appears that Rollins revealed WWE’s last-minute decision before his match against Roman Reigns.
Seth Rollins squared off against Roman Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship to kick off the Royal Rumble event last year. Seth Rollins played mind games with Reigns as he brought back the Shield gimmick for the match.
The match ended in disqualification as Roman Reigns choked out Rollins without letting him go, leading to Rollins’ victory. Naturally, Rollins has constantly been taking shots at Roman Reigns since then.
While speaking with Mail Sport’s Alex McCarthy, The Visionary revealed that using The Shield’s entrance was a last-minute decision made by WWE. In the end, it further added to the match in a big way.
“Why didn’t I bring the blonde streak back? I think the major reason was The Shield entrance was a very last-minute call. I am actually lucky the PPV itself was in St. Louis, which is a few hours’ driving distance to my house, where all of my old stuff is stashed. Had we not been that close, I would never have been able to do that entrance as I just wasn’t in proximity to get that gear. It was that last-minute, to the point where I had to have people secretly bring me The Shield gear in the back.
Seth Rollins also made it clear that he doesn’t want to be a champion like Roman Reigns but instead wants to be like CM Punk. It remains to be seen whether Rollins and Reigns will duke it out in the future again. After all, fans would love to see the two engage in a long feud next time.
