Gable Steveson’s insane performance at the Tokyo Olympics back in 2021 made him a household name. Because of this, he eventually signed with WWE but has barely been used by the company since signing with them. It appears that Steveson might not be returning to WWE anytime soon.

After a lot of teases and speculation, WWE managed to sign Gable Steveson to a contract a couple of years ago. He was already drafted to Monday Night RAW as part of the WWE Draft. He also got physical during WrestleMania 38 Night 2 but didn’t do all that much after that.

Gable Steveson last appeared on an episode of Friday Night Smackdown in December last year alongside Kurt Angle. Fans wondered whether WWE would ever use Steveson as it seemed unlikely he was ever going to do anything in the company.

Gable Steveson confirmed with FloWrestling that he wants to return to NCAA competition next year because he still has one year of eligibility left because the 2021 season did not count towards eligibility because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Gable Steveson also wants to prove himself to WWE fans. Steveson even made an impressive return to amateur wrestling recently, where he absolutely dominated the competition. We’ll have to see when Steveson will finally make his long-awaited in-ring debut in WWE.
