During Pride Month, Sonya Deville, a WWE superstar, announced her engagement to her girlfriend, Toni Cassano. As they make preparations for their wedding, Deville and Cassano have decided that Cassano will take Deville’s real-life last name, Berenato. The couple plans to have a wedding ceremony that deviates from the traditional white-bright theme.
Drawing inspiration from Sonya Deville’s ring gear, the Berenato wedding will incorporate black tones to create an edgy and moody aesthetic. Their love story didn’t begin with love at first sight but rather with a connection forged through social media, where their relationship started with a mutual “like.”
Sonya Deville revealed to Forbes that, “It’s going to sound odd, but it was before I even met her.” She also went on to explain how she actually followed her future wife on Instagram for years before meeting her. In fact, it looks like she had a very close eye on her.
“I followed her on Instagram for a few years, and she followed me, and I would just look at her posts and I was like ‘this is like my wife.’ I know it sounds crazy, but she just had everything going on that I’m into. She just seemed so genuine and real, and the day I met her I was like ‘she’s exactly everything I thought she would be and more.’”
Sonya Deville is very happy, and this month is a good one to celebrate her love. Pride has been the theme for a lot of celebrations, and it seems that Sonya Deville is only getting started.
WWE is an all-inclusive company, and they have many people throughout their roster who enjoy their own walk of life. Sonya Deville will keep being herself, and she’s very happy about the love she found as well.
