AEW has a solid roster full of talented pro wrestlers from various promotions. This is especially true for the current crop of female wrestlers in AEW, as Skye Blue is already one of the most loved stars in the division. Now it appears she opened up about an emotional moment from her AEW Collision debut.
Skye Blue has been part of AEW programming for the past couple of years, as she excited fans with her in-ring performances. This all led to AEW officially signing her back in April.
During the debut episode of AEW Collision, Skye Blue teamed up with NJPW Strong Women’s Champion Willow Nightingale against Ruby Soho and AEW Women’s World Champion Toni Storm. Blue would pin Ruby Soho and pick up the win, in a moment that melted fans’ hearts.
Skye Blue took to her Instagram and uploaded several photos from the show, as she reflected on the emotional match and how life-changing the whole experience was for her.
WARNING THIS IS GOING TO BE SAPPY AF
If you would have told 17 year old trainee Skye that at the age of 23 she would pin Ruby Soho on the debut of AEW Collision in a SOLD OUT United Center, in my hometown of Chicago, AND my ass (quite literally) broke the internet….. I would have never believed you.
I still can’t wrap my head around all the feelings and emotions that went through me from the moments leading up to walking out onto that stage to me just typing this caption. I am so grateful for the opportunity to show the world who Skye Blue really is, and I can’t wait to keep making you all proud. I love pro wrestling so effin much, it’s my life, it’s all I know, and I can’t wait to wrestle til I’m 85 years old still trying to bump and wrestle to put smiles on everyone’s faces. Let’s f****** go 💙
Skye Blue also confirmed her relationship with Kyle Fletcher right after the show. It remains to be seen what AEW will have planned for the young star, now that she has shown a ton of improvement inside the squared circle.
