Jeff Hardy is universally beloved, being a proper veteran in the pro wrestling world. However, his personal demons have cost him a great deal. After a lot of personal setbacks, Hardy returned to AEW earlier this year and it appears he won’t be competing in indie events outside of AEW.
Jeff Hardy was arrested on June 13 last year in Volusia County, Florida and charged with DUI, driving with a suspended license and violating restrictions placed on a driver’s license. Fans were concerned for Jeff Hardy’s well-being throughout his long hiatus.
After 10 months away from AEW television, Jeff Hardy finally returned back in April. Hardy has become a mainstay of the company after his return and fans are just happy to see him back.
While speaking on his podcast, The Extreme Life of Matt Hardy, Matt Hardy revealed that Jeff Hardy will not be competing in indie events outside of AEW and will also do very few signings every month.
“He doesn’t wrestle on the indie scene right now. Jeff doesn’t want to wrestle on indies. He only wants to wrestle on AEW right now. He’s open doing signings and cons and stuff like that, but he only wants to do two a month. He’s really put his foot down with that and I respect that and I’m cool with that.”
Jeff Hardy’s return was also organized in just a few days. We will have to wait and see how AEW will be booking Jeff Hardy in the coming weeks, now that he is back for good.
