The Good Brothers were among a lot of WWE Superstars who lost their jobs during the pandemic. It seems that they had other options, but they decided to take Triple H’s offer when he assumed power of the company’s creative direction.
Following their release from WWE in 2020, Gallows and Anderson made their way to IMPACT Wrestling, where they remained until 2022. Their tenure with IMPACT saw them achieve significant success. At Turning Point 2020, the duo, known as the Good Brothers, captured the IMPACT World Tag Team Championships. They went on to win the titles two more times at Slammiversary 2021 and Slammiversary 2022. These victories collectively gave them a reign of 418 days, making them the third-longest reigning champions in the history of the promotion.
In a recent episode of Talk ‘n Shop, Karl Anderson revealed that the possibility of re-signing with IMPACT was very close in 2022.
“[The offer] was great and we almost re-signed it, but there was just this personal thing that we needed to do. We just wanted to do a couple of really big shows in Japan.”
The Good Brothers missed a few months from WWE television when AJ Styles suffered an ankle injury. He is now back and ready to go, so The OC is doing their thing once again.
We’ll never know what could have happened if the Good Brothers decided to make an Impact Wrestling return instead. Obviously, they would have been treated like a top act for the company, but it’s anyone’s guess if they would have been as happy as they are with AJ Styles in WWE.
