AEW has a number of things up in the air as they continue down the road. Not only are television rights deals a big thing, but it is also something that is coming up much sooner than later.

Despite rumors of a new television deal between AEW and Warner Bros. Discovery being announced alongside AEW Collision, no such deal has been made public. The reason for this is that negotiations for a rights renewal have not yet begun.

Tony Khan previously mentioned that they had a new contract in place, but it is likely for the same length as the original deal, meaning it will expire as initially intended. A new deal was not reach when Collision was agreed upon.

According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, talks for a new rights deal are expected to commence early next year. It is believed that Warner Bros. Discovery will exercise the option year in AEW’s current contract, which is set to conclude in September 2024. While there may be a price increase involved in the new agreement, it is reportedly far less than the substantial amount rumored earlier.

AEW also has a lot riding on Collision’s success. Only time will tell if they will have enough to get big deals going once the time comes to talk about a new television deal.
