AEW has come a long way since its debut back in 2019, with a wide variety of improvements all across the board. However, note everything in AEW is going well right now – especially on the production side. Now it appears AEW’s production team was slammed for needless use of blood during their recent matches.

AEW is known for its frequent usage of blood, especially during Jon Moxley matches. In fact, the former AEW World Champion was called out for bleeding too much during his matchesMox’s fervent dedication toward blade jobs continues to be a source of concern for many.

Even during this week’s episode of AEW Dynamite, MJF ended up bleeding during his match against Adam Cole. While speaking on Busted Open Radio, Bully Ray talked about AEW Dynamite this week – especially MJF vs Adam Cole.

Bully Ray criticized the AEW production team for their needless use of blood and how it simply took away from the performances of MJF and Adam Cole. He added that the blood did not even add anything to the match.

“There are things that I saw last night that, unfortunately, commanded my attention as much as the great performance of Adam Cole and MJF,” Bully said. “The bad, to me, was the use of blood.

What did that blood really get us? The blood did not advance that story in the match, nor did it come into play later on. … So it’s a gratuitous use of blood that did not help the match take steps forward. Would the match have suffered if there was no blood from the mouth? Not at all. So I don’t know why they felt they needed to use a superkick that led to MJF bleeding from the mouth.

I am begging AEW to learn from their production mistakes when it comes to blood, when it comes to catching things that the pro wrestling universe does not need to see,

[The] production is showing us things that they shouldn’t be showing us,” Bully continued. “[Such as] MJF spitting whatever was in his mouth into his hands and sliding it under the ring apron. It was a deliberate shot, as if they wanted to show it to us.

It’s unfortunate, but these unfortunate production errors have happened a multitude of times. Most of the time, they’ve happened with Moxley, where they’re exposing what Moxley is doing at any particular time when it comes to bleeding. So please, AEW, do a better job with your production when it comes to aspects of things pro wrestling fans do not need to see.”

We will have to wait and see whether AEW will end up improving their production when it comes to using blood. By the looks of it, that may not be happening anytime soon at all.
