WWE Hall of Famer Ted DiBiase’s son, Ted DiBiase Jr, is in a lot of trouble. He was caught up in Mississippi’s larges insurance fraud case in history. Now, it seems that his father is speaking out and saying what he can.
In April 2023, Ted DiBiase Jr. was indicted on multiple charges, including conspiracy to commit wire fraud, theft concerning programs receiving federal funds, wire fraud, theft, and money laundering. These charges carry significant potential penalties, including up to five years in prison for conspiracy, up to 20 years for each wire fraud count, up to 10 years for each theft count related to federal funds, and up to 10 years for each money laundering count.
While Ted DiBiase Sr. has maintained a mostly quiet stance on the case, he did express his belief that his family is being unfairly targeted due to their fame, suggesting that they may be used as scapegoats in this situation.
While speaking to Going Ringside, Ted DiBiase spoke a bit about his family, and how they’re dealing with this situation.
“We’re doing good. All of that, it is a bunch of garbage. I’m not at liberty to talk about it but it’s kind of like they’re looking for a scapegoat and we’re caught in the middle of it. If I didn’t have a celebrity name, they wouldn’t be looking at me.”
We will have to see a close eye on Ted DiBiase Jr, and his case. There was a motion in the last week to delay his trial as well, so this should be interesting.
