WWE has seen a few MMA fighters make the jump to the company. With Endeavor merging WWE and UFC, it seems even more likely than ever that fans might just see Conor McGregor finally make his way to Vince McMahon’s company.

After the announcement of the WWE and UFC merger after WrestleMania 39, speculation popped up about which UFC fighters would transition well into professional wrestling. One of the most anticipated prospects was Conor McGregor, and his name has been around for a while as a dream-get for WWE.

It seems that Conor McGregor is not particularly enthralled with the idea. YouTuber Adam’s Apple caught McGregor in New York this week while he was signing autographs for fans outside his hotel. McGregor looked agitated, as he was asked about the possibility of doing something with WWE. Although the exact context was difficult to tell over the noise of the fans, he dismissively replied with a simple “no.”

McGregor’s response may come as a surprise, not only because many in the wrestling industry saw him as a natural fit for WWE, but also because McGregor himself had entertained the idea of joining WWE as recently as March. He had posted a photo of himself holding the WWE Money in the Bank briefcase, leading to a response from Paul Heyman, who claimed that McGregor would be no match for WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.

Currently, McGregor serves as a coach alongside Michael Chandler in the revived series of “The Ultimate Fighter.” The season will conclude with a highly anticipated match between McGregor and Chandler in the Octagon.

We will have to see if Conor McGregor ever makes his way to WWE. It isn’t impossible to imagine, but WWE will have to pay Notorious a lot of money, because they are a different company from their TKO Group Holdings partner.
