AEW is about to see the return of CM Punk to the company, but there might be a bit more controversy before Collision’s debut episode on June 17th. The Second City Savior isn’t known to keep his opinions to himself, and it appears that happened again.
We previously reported that another damaging story about AEW and CM Punk is expected to come out soon. Wade Keller was quite blunt about this, but he also withheld some information on his radio show.
“I am under the impression between now and Saturday, there’s going to be something that comes out that media wise that is not gonna help matters, probably. I don’t mean to be cryptic but I haven’t heard the details or seen enough to say much but yea, I just don’t know. I just think it’s gonna be one of those weeks, I’ll put it that way… From what I’m hearing behind the scenes in AEW, it’s just gonna be one of those weeks.”
According to Bryan Alvarez of F4Wonline, there is an update regarding CM Punk. It is now being reported that Punk has recently participated in a controversial interview with ESPN. Alvarez noted that this interview is expected to stir up strong emotions and potentially upset a lot of people.
For the record, Ringside News exclusively reported that WWE is not concerned with CM Punk’s AEW return. We were told that, “no one really cares” about the AEW and CM Punk situation within WWE. In fact, we were explicitly told that, “Punk is a disaster, and Tony has injured his own company in so many ways by bringing him back.”
We will have to see what CM Punk says in this comping interview. He is forbidden from talking about Brawl Out, but there might be several other issues that he needs to air out before making his return to the company.
