Carlito was one of the highlights of WWE’s mid-card division during his time in the company but was eventually released in 2010. While he appeared during the 2021 Royal Rumble, it wasn’t until his Backlash return earlier this year that it truly felt like Carlito came back home. Now it appears Carlito might have signed with WWE.
Caribbean Cool made his return during Bad Bunny and Damian Priest’s San Juan Street Fight at the Backlash Premium Live Event. The pro wrestling veteran came out to even the odds after The Judgment Day interfered in the match.
Just to make fans happy, Carlito hit his signature Backstabber and even got to spit an apple in Dominik Mysterio’s face. Fans went ballistic when they saw him, as the live crowd reaction showed just how much they missed him.
According to Dave Meltzer on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Carlito might have already signed with WWE. Meltzer noted how Carlito recently cancelled an independent date in Canada for Devon Nicholson’s Great North Wrestling promotion due to him joining WWE again.
”He (Carlito) had an independent show on July 15 for Devon Nicholson in Canada, and he called him up to cancel and said that he has signed with WWE.
So… perhaps he has signed with WWE. That’s what Devon Nicholson said today.”
Carlito even joked that his indie wrestling price will be going up after WWE Backlash. There is also the chance that he could make more appearances after the event. Regardless, we’ll have to wait and see whether Carlito has actually signed with WWE again.
