CM Punk will return to AEW television this week as part of Collision. That is a big deal for AEW, but they have another huge pay-per-view event coming up in just about a week after that.
During Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer noted that it is very likely that CM Punk will wrestle at Forbidden Door. That being said, his match hasn’t been made official yet.
It was noted that since CM Punk is coming back on Saturday, June 17th, and the Forbidden Door pay-per-view is on June 25th, then “give that he’s back Saturday and the pay-per-view is the next week, one would think that you would put him on that pay-per-view.
That being said, Meltzer also noted that there are matches with “big stars” that haven’t been booked for the Forbidden Door 2 event yet. This should be quite a show.
Tony Khan’s company booked several matches for the Forbidden Door 2 pay-per-view this week on Dynamite. Only time will tell how many matches they add to the card, becuase both AEW and NJPW are known for their loaded events.
