Adam Cole is one of the best pro wrestlers on the planet, but he doesn’t have a look that is historically common in the business.
Konnan has expressed his belief that Adam Cole should consider incorporating tanning and gaining some weight to enhance his presence.
Speaking on Keepin’ It 100, industry veteran Konnan cited The Rock and Stone Cold as examples for Adam Cole to rethink his current stance.
“I think that Adam Cole probably thinks, this is, you know, just a supposition- ‘Hey this got me to the dance, why fix it if ain’t broke?’, but you aren’t in the dance in the indies. You’re in the major leagues now and The Rock dressed like that or looked like that or Dave Batista, you know. Stone Cold was a whole different thing, he looked like he was in shape. He looked like he could beat your ass. You’ve got to look the part dude.”
“Adam Cole, I like that guy as a person and a performer but he just needs a tan and he needs a bit more weight.”
Despite receiving overwhelming support from fans and fellow wrestlers, veterans such as Jim Cornette and Booker T have advised the AEW star to focus on building muscle. Cole recently addressed this matter during a passionate promo against MJF on Dynamite, emphasizing his “body of work.”
Adam Cole has received both praise and criticism as one of the most talked-about wrestlers. However, the 33-year-old has faced physique-related criticisms since last year. Now, he is poised to take on MJF on AEW Dynamite this week in a match that could see some major momentum for him in Tony Khan’s company.
We will have to see what’s up with Adam Cole’s future in AEW. After all, he is well on his way to a full-fledged comeback as he chases the AEW World Title.
