AEW Dynamite Results Coverage, Reactions & Highlights For June 14, 2023

Tonight promises another exciting night of action as the AEW Women’s World Championship is on the line as Toni Storm defends against Skye Blue. Wardlow will also defend his TNT Championship against Jake Hager and Adam Cole will face MJF in an AEW World Championship Eliminator match. The complete match card is as follows:

AEW Dynamite Opener:

The opening package for the show airs. The commentators welcome the audience to the show.

AEW World Championship Eliminator Match: MJF (c) vs. Adam Cole

Adam Cole’s music plays and he walks to the ring. MJF’s music plays and he makes his way to the ring.

The match starts and MJF knocks down Cole. Cole fakes a superkick and MJF backs away. He then rolls out of the ring and heads into the crowd. MJF gets back in the ring. MJF attacks Cole in the corner. He then sends Cole into the opposite turnbuckle.

Cole sends MJF into the turnbuckle and stomps him in the corner. He gets on the second turnbuckle and punches MJF. He sends MJF over the top rope. Cole goes for a baseball slide but it caught in the apron. MJF slams Cole’s arm on the steel steps.

Cole rolls back into the ring. MJF goes to work on the arm. MJF targets Cole’s arm. MJF drives Cole shoulder-first to the mat. He then plants Cole. Cole fights back with the superkick. Cole with a clothesline, a back elbow, and a pump kick. Cole hits a enzuigiri and a backstabber. Cover! 1…2….kick out.

Cole goes for the Panama sunrise but is caught and sent to the apron. MJF goes for a heat sinker but Cole counters. Cole goes for the bomb but MJF escapes and hits a shoulder breaker. Cole fights back with a neckbreaker.

Cole with another neckbreaker. Cover! 1…2…kick out. MJF rolls to the apron. MJF goes for the tombstone piledriver but Cole fights out of it. Cole then climbs the rope but is stopped and MJF hits a tombstone piledriver on the apron. Cole rolls into the ring. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

MJF goes back to work on the arm. MJF spits on Cole. Both men exchange strikes. Cole with a pump kick and a superkick. He hits another superkick. MJF recovers and hits a clothesline. Cover! 1…..2…..kick out. Cover! 1….2…..kick out.

Cole transitions into a crossface but MJF escapes and locks in the salt of the earth submission. Cole rolls through and locks in the ankle lock. MJF rolls through into the crossface but Cole gets to the rope. MJF hits the heat sinker. Cover! 1….2….kick out.

MJF pulls Cole out of the ring and places him on the timekeeper’s table. He then climbs the top rope and hits an elbow on Cole through the table. MJF gets back into the ring and the referee starts the ten count. Cole gets back in the ring to beat the count. Cole superkicks MJF on the apron and hits a straight-jacket German suplex.

MJF stomps the back of Cole. He argues with the referee but Cole rolls up MJF who kicks out and Cole knocks down the referee. MJF gets the title belt. He throws it to Cole and fakes being hit. Cole hits him with the title belt and follows it with the boom. Cover! 1….2…..kick out.

MJF low blows Cole while blocking the referee’s views. MJF places the Dynamite Diamond ring on his finger. He goes to attack Cole but is stopped by the referee. Cole with a superkick and he follows it with Panama sunrise. He then hits the boom. Cover! 1…..2…..the bell rings as the time limit for the match has expired.

Winner: Draw

Cole gets a mic and asks for five more minutes. MJF rolls out of the ring.

*Commercial break*

A CM Punk promo plays and he says he has a lot to say on AEW Collision.

Renee Paquette is in the ring and she introduces Sammy Guevara. Renee asks about where he is at after Double or Nothing. Sammy says it’s been a hell of a ride these past couple of months. He then says they are having a girl.

Sammy says the goal is the same and he will half his wife and baby in one arm and the world title in the other arm. He says before that happens, he has to make some changes. Darby Allin’s music plays and he comes out to the ring.

Darby congratulates him on his baby but he wants to talk about Double or Nothing. He says the people are starting to love Sammy again. He then asks him whether Sammy is going to stand on his own feet or live in JAS’ shadow. He then says he and Sting are equals. He says Sammy doesn’t have to answer his question but he knows the answer.

Jericho’s music hit and he walks to the ring. Jericho asks Darby to shut his mouth. Jericho says he wants to ask him a question. He says Sammy never called him once while he was chasing the world title. He says he would’ve been a world champion had he asked for his help.

Sammy says Jericho should’ve called him because if he had he wouldn’t have lost to Cole. Jericho asks him to apologize to him. Sammy says he isn’t apologizing for anything. Jericho says they need to have a tag team match next week so he can remember who his boss is. Darby says when Jericho steps in the ring, the magic is gone.

Jericho asks if Darby wants to challenge him and he says he and Sammy should beat him up. Darby says he is not alone and Sting’s music plays and he comes out. Jericho points his bat at Sting who moves it away and does the same. Jericho exits the ring and he asks Sammy to leave with him but Sammy stays in the ring.

*Commercial break*

SANADA is backstage and he says he will show what he is capable of at Forbidden Door where he is issuing an open challenge.

Mogul Embassy vs. Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Sting, & Keith Lee

Keith Lee’s music plays and he comes out to the ring. Orange Cassidy’s music hit and he walks to the ring.

The match starts as Darby and Cassidy dive onto the Mogul Embassy. Darby attacks Swerve in the corner. String also does the same. Darby hits the code red on Swerve. Darby goes for a coffin drop but Swerve stops him.

Cage suplex Darby from the apron to the ring. Cage attacks Darby in the corner. He tags out and Toa attacks him in the corner. He tags out and Kaun continues to attack Allin. Kaun throws Darby across the ring. He tags out and Swerve continues to attack Darby. Swerve goes to work on Darby.

Cage tags in and he hits the powerbomb. Cage tags out and Swerve continues to work Darby. Darby hits the stunner and tags out. Lee comes in and attacks everyone. Lee with an elbow strike to Cage. He attacks Swerve in the corner and places him on the top rope. Mogul Embassy hits the stomp powerbomb combo. Cover! 1…2…Orange and Darby make the save. Cassidy with a tornado DDT on Swerve. Cage hits the F5 on Cassidy. Darby knocks Cage out of the ring.

Toa attacks Sting in the corner. Lee takes him out with the pounce and sends Kaun out of the ring. He slams Swerve. Darby hits the coffin drop out of the ring. Sting attacks Cage with the clothesline. Cage goes for the F-5 but Cassidy hits him with the Orange punch and Sting hits a scorpion death drop for the win.

Winner: Orange Cassidy, Darby Allin, Sting, & Keith Lee

Renee interviews the Gunns. Colten says he and Austin were raised to be good people. Austin says they are the best tag team. He says he has had his eye on the Hardy Boyz but they are washed up. He then says they are challenging the Hardys next week.

TNT Championship Match: Wardlow (c) vs. Jake Hager

Wardlow’s music plays and he comes out. Jake Hager attacks him from behind and sends him into the ring. Hager attacks him in the corner. Wardlow comes back with a clothesline and a German suplex.

Wardlow attacks Hager in the corner. He sends Hager over the top rope. Wardlow hits Hager with a clothesline. He sends him back into the ring. Wardlow attacks Hager. Cover! 1…2…kick out.

Wardlow attacks Hager in the corner. He then suplexes Hager. Wardlow attacks him in the corner. Wardlow collides with the post. Hager attacks Wardlow in the corner. Hager with the ankle lock on Wardlow. Wardlow fights out of it and hits a spinebuster.

Angelo Parker and Matt Menard come out. Brock Anderson comes out and attacks them. Hager slams Wardlow in the ring. Hage goes for Hager bomb but Wardlow blocks it and sends him over the top rope. He sends Hager back into the ring and hits a senton off the top rope. Hager hits the powerbomb symphony for the win.

Christian Cage and Luchasaurus appear on the titantron. Christian says Wardlow threw an open challenge to Luchasaurus and he accepts his challenge for a match at AEW Collision. He then shows Arn Anderson hurt with blood on his face. Wardlow rushes backstage.

Hiroshi Tanahashi says he came close to beating Moxley last year and challenges MJF to a match for Forbidden. Renee tells MJF that he has a match against Tanahashi. MJF says no to the match because he doesn’t want to face a random from Japan.

*Commercial break*

Renee interviews Orange Cassidy who says someone will walk in and challenge him for the title. Zack Sabre Jr. walks in and challenges him for a match at Forbidden. Daniel Garcia walks in and says Zack doesn’t work. He then asks for Shibada. Cassidy says Shibada isn’t here and challenges him and Zack to a tag match next week.

AEW Women’s World Championship Match: Toni Storm (c) vs. Skye Blue

Skye Blue’s music plays and she comes out to the ring. The Outcasts music hit and they walk to the ring.

The match starts and Skye attacks Toni in the corner. Skye dives onto Storm. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Storm sends her to the apron and goes for the hip attack and misses. Skye hits a hip attack of her own. Storm sprays Skye’s mom.

Skye hits a suicide dive onto Storm and Soho. Storm sends Skye into the barricade. Storm sends her back into the ring. She throws her across the ring. Storm with a backbreaker. She then hits a side slam. Cover! 1…2…kick out.

Storm with a suplex on Blue. Skye hits a hurricanrana and a step-up knee. Storm sends her out of the ring. Storm sends her into the ring. Soho hands her the spray and distracts the referee. Skye sprays her in the face. and hits the Code blue but Soho distracts the referee. Skye superkicks Soho. Storm hits storm zero. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Storm locks in the Texas cloverleaf and Skye taps out.

Winner: Toni Storm (c)

They attack Skye Blue after the match. Willow Nightingale comes down to the ring to chase them away.

Renee interviews Junglehook. Jack says the summer of Junglehook is just begun. He says he is accepting Sanada’s open challenge for the IWGP World Championship. He then tells Hook that he is his best friend and asks him to be in his corner at Forbidden Door. They fist bump.

Bryan Danielson’s music plays and he comes out.

The Elite vs. Blackpool Combat Club

Jon Moxley’s music plays and he comes out with the rest of Blackpool Combat Club.

*Commercial break*

The Elite’s music hit and they walk to the ring.

The match starts and both teams brawl in the ring. The Elite superkick the Blackpool Combat Club sending them outside the ring. Nick dives onto Claudio. Page hits a shooting star press on Yuta. Page se sends Moxley into the ring. He tags out. Moxley attacks Matt in the corner.

Matt takes him down and attacks him. He tags out and Nick with a crossbody on Moxley. He then plants him and goes for a moonsault on Claudio but is caught and hit with an uppercut. Page attacks Claudio but Moxley dives onto him. Matt dives onto Moxley and Claudio.

Yuta with a German suplex on Matt. Moxley with the king kong lariat on Nick. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Moxley tags out and Claudio attacks Nick in the corner. Claudio tags out and Yuta attacks Nick. Yuta tags out and Claudio stomps Nick. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Claudio goes to work on Nick.

Moxley tags in and attacks Nick. Moxley with a suplex. Cover! 1….2….kick out. Nick fights back with a dropkick. Both men tag out. Page attacks Yuta and Claudio. He hits the fallaway slam on Yuta and dives onto Claudio. He sends Yuta outside and dives onto Claudio. He then dives on Yuta and sends him into the ring. Page with a lariat off the top rope. Cover! 1….2…kick out.

Page with a powerbomb in the corner. He tags out and Matt hits the Northern lights suplex on Yuta and Moxley. Matt superkicks Moxley and Yuta who comes back with a German suplex. Cover! 1…2….kick out. Moxley tags in and he hits the a Doomsday Device on Matt. Cover! 1…2…kick out. Moxley hits the anvil elbows and locks in the sleeper hold.

Claudio hits the anvil elbows on Page. Nick saves Matt. Claudio tags in and slams Matt. He tags in Yuta who dives onto Matt but is caught with the knees. The Young Bucks superkick Claudio, Moxley, and Yuta. Matt tags out and they hit the popup powerbomb. They then hit the BTE Trigger. Page hits the buckshot lariat for the win.

Winner: The Elite

Jon Moxley and Claudio attack The Elite. Moxley sends Nick over the barricade. Eddie Kingston’s music plays and he attacks Claudio. Kingston sends Claudio out of the ring. Matt attacks Moxley from behind. Kingston pulls Matt off Moxley. Takeshita comes out and attacks Kingston and Nick.

Omega comes out and attacks Takeshita. He hits the V Trigger and a snap dragon suplex. The Young Bucks take out Blackpool Combat Club. Omega hits a V Trigger on Takeshita. Will Ospreay appears from behind and hits a hook kick. He then takes him out. Ospreay hits the storm breaker on Omega. Ospreay then hits the hidden blade.
