AEW will hold the debut episode of Collision at the United Center in Chicago and fans are excited for the new show. That being said, many fans wondered if the show meant some other specials such as Battle Of The Belts. However, it appears the specials will continue.
It was officially announced that CM Punk will be teaming up with FTR and squaring off against Jay White, Juice Robinson, and Samoa Joe in the main event of the debut episode of AEW Collision on June 17th.
AEW first aired the Battle Of The Belts special in January 2022 following the launch of Rampage and Dynamite’s move to TBS. Obviously, fans wondered if AEW was going to discontinue the special after Collision’s debut.
While speaking with Post Wrestling, AEW President Tony Khan was asked about the future of the Battle Of The Belts specials. Khan confirmed that the specials will continue even after AEW Collision’s debut.
“Yeah, Battle of the Belts will continue, which is great. As far as where the next episode of Battle of the Belts will run on TNT, whether it be on a Friday or Saturday, is a great question. We’re still talking about that. We’ll have an answer about that soon.”
AEW also got a UK TV deal for Collision. We will have to wait and see when AEW will hold the next Battle Of The Belts special as each event has proven to be a night worth watching.
