Former WWE Superstar Lio Rush is set to make his return to Impact Wrestling at the Summer Sizzler event next week. Rush’s appearance was announced on Twitter, confirming that he will be part of the TV tapings in Atlanta, Georgia on Friday, June 23. The details of his appearance, including his opponent and potential participation in the second day of tapings, have not been revealed.

This will be Rush’s second stint with Impact Wrestling, with his debut taking place earlier this year at the Impact x NJPW Multiverse United pay-per-view in March. Since departing from AEW back in February 2022, Rush has been active on the independent scene and has been building his reputation in New Japan Pro-Wrestling as a member of the CHAOS faction.

The timing of Rush’s return to Impact Wrestling is interesting, as it precedes the upcoming Multiverse United 2 event scheduled for August 20. This sequel event follows NJPW’s All-Star Junior Festival USA in Philadelphia.

While talent announcements for these events are yet to be made, Impact Wrestling is currently focused on its Slammiversary pay-per-view and has planned stops at the Summer Sizzler and a Down Under tour in Australia.
